San Diego County Gun Owners is proud to be a part of lawsuits such as the one fighting against the “Assault Weapons” Ban (Miller v. Bonta). Not only are each of the named plaintiffs members of SDCGO, but SDCGO is also a plaintiff. This means that if you’re a member, you’re a plaintiff too!

But one thing we are even more proud of? The fact that we can represent the voice of the average, everyday law abiding gun owner for local and national media.

SDCGO Executive Director Michael Schwartz was recently quoted in the San Diego Union Tribune in an article that was featured on the front page!

Great News!

CCW Appointment Process Update!

As you may have heard, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department has been experiencing a severe backlog on initial appointments for CCW permits. We’ve been informed that they have gotten through a significant portion of the backlog, and will begin moving up appointments very soon. If you have an appointment scheduled for 2022, keep an eye out for communication from the Sheriff’s Department about an earlier appointment.

Thank you to the Licensing Division for working so hard to make this a smooth and easy application process!

It’s the 4^th of July, Independence Day. Aside of being one of the few days of the year where I have an excuse to grill burgers and dogs over charcoal, Independence Day celebrates the birth of our nation. It celebrates our declaration of independence from the tyrannical rule of King George III of England. But 245 years later, how secure is our independence? Our liberty? Our freedom?
