Supervisor Dianne Jacob led the charge to take away your freedoms and liberty. On October 9th at 9am, the
County Board of Supervisors
voted to ban shooting on federally owned land under the ridiculous guise of “fire safety”.
Those opposing the ban outnumbered those supporting it 3 to 1, but 3 out of the 5 Supervisors still voted against you. One speaker made the ridiculous, false claim that while target shooters are using the Donohoe Flats shooting area, they have to hunker down and duck because of all the stray bullets!
With “Friends” Like Her…
Supervisor
Jacobs has long been a fake Second Amendment supporter. She pays it lip-service, but has refused to help with every issue I have put before her. Where was she on the gun show? Where was she on CCWs? She’s been down-right adversarial towards the various gun ranges.
Her presentation to the Board was embarrassingly weak and based on nothing. The most embarrassing part was when Supervisor Roberts asked her to point out on a map exactly where she wanted to ban shooting and she couldn’t. Thankfully, due to term limits, we will be rid of her in 2020.
Bright Spots.
I was very happy and encouraged by Supervisor Bill Horn and Supervisor Kristin Gaspar who both voted against the ban! Thank you very much to both of you. Supervisor Horn’s comments on the Second Amendment and over regulation were spot-on and Supervisor Gaspar’s vote is the latest positive vote in a line of pro-Second Amendment votes while mayor of Encinitas and now Supervisor in San Diego County’s 3rd District.
This voting record has earned Supervisor Gapsar a “Thumbs Up” rating on our website:

So Now What?
The regulation has NOT gone into effect. It will take 120 days for them to draft something. However, the County was using some old Memo of Understanding they have with the Federal Government. So help us get the word out that NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
I cannot give you details yet, but nothing is going to change. The federal government (Bureau of Land Management) decides what happens on their land. All I can say right now is that that ban is not in place now and will not be. Much to the dismay of Dianne.
Nothing is ever guaranteed in politics, but…San Diego County Gun Owners is on top of it and strongly believe we are going to win….and BIGLY.
