Help us get this information out.
Renewals (COVID changes):
Submit your renewal application on Permitium 90 days prior to your expiration.
Submit your renewal application BEFORE or AFTER you take your 4-hour Safety Refresher Class. If you have not taken your class, upload a blank sheet of paper to Permitium and submit your 4-hour class certification after you have competed it. The certification is good for 90 days.
Once you have submitted your renewal application, you are placed in a queue for an appointment and the Sheriff’s Department will call you to schedule a day and time for you to come into the office.
Renewals are seen by appointment only. (No walk-ins)
Initial Application (COVID changes):
If you have not applied for your California CCW, start by checking out our instructional video explaining how here: www.SDCGO.org/CCW
If you are currently in the Application Process. If you have started the process of getting your CCW, confirm that you have an appointment by emailing CCW@SDSheriff.net
THE DATE THEY GIVE YOU IS NOT THE DATE OF YOUR APPOINTMENT!!! The date they give you on Permitium will be close to a year away. It is a placeholder for your spot in line. They will contact you later to move your appointment date.
Expect these changes to be in effect until after the COVID-19 situation comes to some kind of resolution.
8th Annual Front Sight Charity Shoot!
Every year we promote this charity shoot and we hope you will all join us! It is a very cool opportunity to get a bunch of Californians to meet at Front Sight for 4 days to shoot together.
Yes, the event raises money to fight leukemia/lymphoma, and that is important. But the real value is the fun, the training, and the camaraderie! There is nothing like being on a range with 200+ fellow Californians!
This is a very inexpensive adventure. Ask us if you have any questions.
The event will be held March 5-8, 2021, and registration will open on January 1, 2021.
Last month, for the very first time ever, San Diego County Gun Owners hosted an online auction! We featured some really great items, including several firearms, training, memberships, and ammo!
We couldn’t have done it without all of your help and support!
A big thank you to the following donors who made our event possible:
