Just for new gun owners! #WhatTheGun
Gun Prom Update
It gives me no pleasure to send this email. The reaction by elected officials across California has had little to no push-back by those who said they would protect our liberty and freedom if we elected them. As a result, we are unfortunately postponing our October 3rd Second Amendment Celebration Dinner again.
The basic information:
New Date. The new date is May 1, 2021 and the venue is the same (Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley).
Details. All the pertinent details are the same and there is no action required by you. Your purchased ticket will reserve your seat or table at the dinner on May 1. All you have to do is change the date on your calendar and tell everyone you know that the date is now May 1.
Refunds. We would like to see all of you at our event. We can promise we will do everything we can to make the dinner well worth the wait. With the election one month away, we are doing everything we can to use donations to get the right people elected. However, if you want a refund for any reason, we are happy to accommodate and will do so in a timely manner. Just email us at Wendy@SDCGO.org.
Tell Everyone. Please help us get the word out by telling everyone you know who has a ticket of the rescheduled date of May 1, 2021. Are you sponsoring a table? Let your guests know. We would feel horrible if someone didn’t find out and we are doing everything we can to over communicate the change of date.
Special Note. If you purchased a seat or a table and want it to be a donation for the cause, just let us know. We have already been told by a few generous folks that SDCGO should keep the donation and they will buy another ticket next year. That is very generous, and we thank you for even considering it.
I tried everything I could think of. This dinner is an important community event for a lot of reasons. The dinner brings us together, sends the county a message about the strength of the Second Amendment community, and helps us raise money to fight for our Second Amendment rights in San Diego County. I spoke with county officials and many other venues in an attempt to have our event. I was convinced there was another option. Other states are opening business successfully and other events are happening without problems. The unfortunate reality is that the officials we elected who told us they would never compromise our freedom and would always stand up to the face of tyranny have failed us.
SDCGO is a political organization and we only focus on Second Amendment issues, but the way the response to COVID was handled is inexcusable. It is not enough to simply blame Governor Newsom and Supervisor Nathan Fletcher for forcing restrictions. Blame every elected official who did not do enough to fight back.
When we needed leaders the most, the response was little more than a few strongly worded letters and interviews full of platitudes.
Nothing has emphasized the importance of local elections and the importance of quality candidates more than what we are dealing with in 2020. For that reason, San Diego County Gun Owners’ resources are going into promoting the list of candidates we have vetted, making sure that gun owners have a reason to go vote, and helping volunteers do meaningful work to help win the election. We are not defeated. We are moving forward; empowered and a lot wiser.

Voter Guide!
We are immensely proud to present our November 2020 Voter Guide for San Diego’s municipal and county level offices! SDCGO vets candidates based on their Second Amendment views, their viability as a candidate for public office, and their character. Once they pass our test and our Advisory Board votes to endorse them, we compile a list, so you know who to vote for this November.
Reward these candidates with your vote, your donations, and your time by volunteering for their campaign. Most of all, make sure you tell everyone you know how important it is to vote for these candidates. Your Second Amendment future is counting on in.
A few points:
What About So-and-so? If they are running for city or county level offices in 2020 and you do not see them on our voter guide, it is safe to assume you should NOT vote for them. A lot of candidates were considered who did not earn SDCGO’s endorsement.
Your Voter Ballot. If you cannot verify that a pro Second Amendment organization has endorsed a candidate on your ballot…DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM/HER.Leave it blank. Do not support candidates who will not support your Second Amendment. Supporting the “lesser of two evils” and allowing Second Amendment issues to become low priority is how California got to be so bad. California will not change until we change. Step #1 is giving good candidates your support and not giving bad candidates the time of day.
Make this the election YOU made the difference. Help our candidates win so we can be even more effective restoring and preserving our Second Amendment rights.
