PRESS RELEASE: SDCGO Begins 7th Year, Announces New Membership Level
San Diego County Gun Owners (SDCGO), a political action committee (PAC) promoting Second Amendment rights in San Diego County, has marked the beginning of its seventh year with the launch of a new, $5,000-a-year membership called the Legacy Membership.
According to Michael Schwartz, SDCGO executive director, two SDCGO supporters recently stepped up to become Legacy members.
They included: Kali Key, LLC, a San Diego-based, firearms accessory manufacturer of drop-in compliance parts for California gun laws that convert semi-automatic AR-15s into bolt-action rifles; and Lonestar Firearm Defense, LLC, a Houston-based, veteran-owned, lawyer-operated legal defense membership organization that provides legal representation and education to individuals who may use a legal weapon in self-defense.

Training Opportunity
DATE: Friday, March 25th, 2022
TIME: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM-ish
LOCATION: The event will be held at a private property in Escondido, CA.
All shooters must be 18 years of age or older.
This is a one-day clinic on the practical aspects of shooting a carbine. It’s intended for all skill levels except first-time shooters. You will learn how to engage targets out to 300 yards. Expect to learn the prone, sitting, and kneeling shooting positions. You will also learn how to make sight adjustments and use offsets when engaging targets of varying distances. You must be comfortable safely handling your weapon. Previous formal instruction is not required.
This training is intended for anyone with iron sights, red dot optics, or ACOG-like optics. You may also attend if you have a variable 1-7 power scope. However, please keep in mind that this is NOT a precision shooting course. If using a scope you must know the fundamentals of how to operate the scope as we will not have any sniper instructors on hand.
The instructors are all retired Navy SEALS who presently teach weapons handling and employment fundamentals to SEAL trainees as well as other active-duty personnel. In addition, they routinely train members of the public and law enforcement members. Collectively they have a wide range of practical, tactical, and competition experience ranging from SEAL Team 6 to distinguished shooting in NRA sanctioned matches.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was once an agency that the American people trusted without question. I personally have always held that opinion and trusted the CDC as having the last word on public health issues. Events of the last 18 months have drastically changed my view and, I suspect, the same has happened with many people.
If you’re a new shooter who is interested in an informal shooting experience, our Shooting Socials are a great way to dip your toe in the water!
For just $60/person, we can give you a safe, fun, safe, and educational first-time shooting experience. You will get:
1. One-on-one mentoring with an experienced volunteer2. Safety briefing in a classroom3. 2 Hours of range rental4. Gun(s) to learn with5. 50 rounds of ammunition6. Paper target(s)7. Eye protection8. Ear protection
