Student BBQ with Carl DeMaio!
I wanted to make sure you had heard about this great new opportunity for conservative high school and college students in San Diego county.
The Emerging Leaders Program is hosting a FREE BBQ for students and their parents across San Diego County on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 1-3 pm in Rancho Bernardo at the home of Carl DeMaio – who will also be a guest speaker at the event. This is a great opportunity for conservative thinking students who are interested in public service (government, politics, advocacy) to learn more about a free 12 week program that will set them up to thrive in their future careers – providing professional development, mentorship, and job placement assistance!
Do you know any high school or college students that may benefit from this program??
Encourage them to sign up on the website – www.CaliforniaEmergingLeaders.org – so that the Transparency Foundation can connect with them and see if they are interested in participating. They can RSVP for the event here!
Feel free to reach out to Nicole, the Program Director, directly with any questions – 619-376-3001.
ACTION ITEMS
Banning Raw Material for Home Manufactured Firearms. This week the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to make it impossible to home manufacture firearms by requiring a serial number of raw materials. They were specifically targeting 80% kits and they copied the ordinance the City of San Diego passed.
San Diego County Gun Owners is a plaintiff in a lawsuit against this regulation at the city level. You can read more about our lawsuit here: Fahr vs. San Diego
The regulation also includes a requirement to keep your firearms locked or inoperable unless you are wearing or touching the firearm. This regulation only applies to the unincorporated areas of San Diego County.
ACTION ITEM: On January 25th, the County Board of Supervisors will vote to make this regulation permanent. We need you to tell the Board that you oppose their regulation on home manufactured guns and firearms storage regulation. The best way to contact them right now is to send a polite and professional email to these three email addresses:
La Mesa Gun Storage Regulation. The City of La Mesa voted to draft a regulation for firearms storage. This regulation will be the same regulation the County and the City of San Diego passed. It will require all firearms in La Mesa be locked or inoperable unless the owner is wearing or touching the firearm. The City Council will vote on this item at a future meeting.
ACTION ITEM: Right now, we need you to email the mayor of La Mesa and ask him to oppose the regulation on firearms storage. Please ask him to think of La Mesa and to stop brining national issues like gun control to the city council.
Gun Owners Radio Interview: Gun-Grabbing Republican Running for Sheriff?
