More SDCGO Action on the Database Leak
By now, you may have received a letter from the California Attorney General’s Office notifying you that your information may have been compromised. San Diego County Gun Owners hears and understands your outrage regarding the recent database leak by the California Attorney General’s Office.
Criminals who want to target someone who owns a firearm now have a list to use. Identity thieves now have a list of thousands of easy targets. Extremists who disagree with a gun owner’s civil right to keep and bear arms now have a list of enemies to target and harass. Stalkers now have access to sensitive information, including home address, of their targets.
Last week, we have sent a letter to state legislators demanding a full investigation. This is a critical first step to getting the ball rolling and helping identify our allies in Sacramento who also want to see Bonta and the DOJ held accountable.
Click Here to Read the Letter to State Legislators
In order to hold Bonta and the DOJ accountable, we have also submitted a request under the California Public Records Act requesting copies of communications regarding the breach.

We also recently discussed “Can you sue the government for doxxing gun owners?” it on Gun Owners Radio on this week’s episode. Check out the segment HERE.
Check below for a message from our Executive Director for ways to stay vigilant and stay safe.

Message from Our Executive Director
SDCGO Members and Supporters,
By now you have heard about the database leak by the State of California. The name, address, and age of everyone who has a California CCW was posted to a California DOJ webpage for the entire world to see.
This is completely and totally unacceptable. Whether it was incompetence or malfeasance, it is horribly offensive. We will do our part as an organization to ensure there is an investigation, people are held accountable, and appropriate lawsuits happen.
I have received more emails, texts, phone calls, and messages about this database debacle than anything ever in the history of SDCGO. We hear you, and we are just as outraged.
What can you do now?
While lawsuits and investigations are being coordinated and considered, this is a great time for you to evaluate all that you are doing to remain safe and secure against all attacks. As bad as this is, there are activities people do every day that put them at far more risk of being the victim of crime. Are you doing everything you can do to make sure you and your family stay safe?
Consider security systems and cameras at your house.
Make sure all your virus software is installed and updated.
Consult with security professionals to make sure your home, computer, and business are all protected.
Monitor your credit. One of the best ways to protect yourself from identity theft is to monitor your credit history. To obtain free copies of your credit reports from the three major credit bureaus go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com.
Consider placing a free credit freeze on your credit report. Identity thieves will not be able to open a new credit account in your name while the freeze is in place. You can place a credit freeze by contacting each of the three major credit bureaus:
Equifax: 888-766-0008
Experian: 888-397-3742
TransUnion: 800-680-7289
Place a fraud alert on your credit report. A fraud alert helps protect you against the possibility of someone opening new credit accounts in your name. A fraud alert lasts 90 days and can be renewed. To post a fraud alert on your credit file, you must contact one of the three major credit reporting agencies listed above. Keep in mind that if place a fraud alert with any one of the three major credit reporting agencies, the alert will be automatically added by the other two agencies as well.
Additional Resources. If you are a victim of identity theft, contact your local police department or sheriff’s office right away. You may also report identity theft and generate a recovery plan using the Federal Trade Commission’s website. For more information and resources visit the Attorney General’s website.
There are endless sources, articles, books, and professionals that can give you advice. Everyone’s situation is different, but the worst thing you can do is nothing. The risk of you being targeted due to this CCW data dump by the state is likely to be low, but use this as a catalyst to make sure you are doing all that you should to stay safe. If anything does happen, contact law enforcement and SDCGO immediately. We are happy to help in any way we are able.
Together, We Will Win. It is not just our motto. It is how we live. Let us know if you need help.
Thank you.

Direct Action Response Training with Dark Angel Medical
Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24
The time to learn to use your personal trauma kit is not when you or someone else is bleeding out!!! When life expectancy is measured in seconds and help is minutes away, will you know what to do? In our uncertain lives, that is a question that we all need to be able to answer a resounding, “Yes!” to. Dark Angel Medical, LLC, is proud to offer training and instruction in the use of the D.A.R.K. The Direct Action Response Training** fills a niche between military self-aid/buddy care training and civilian EMS training and is geared towards those with little to no medical training or background. It provides the student with critical, need-to-know information, which can be utilized in a myriad of situations and stresses the ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ principle as well as our own principle of “Simplicity Under Stress”. The course is 2 days in length with a total of 16 hours of classroom work to include slide presentations, videos, question and answer sessions and hands-on practical skills application. A manual and all training aids will be provided.

Gun Owners Radio: The 2A Fight Continues after NYSRPA v. Bruen
Blog: How Low Will They Go in Reaction to the SCOTUS 2A Decision? – Is there anything the oppressive states won’t do to prevent law-abiding citizens from exercising their constitutionally protected rights?
The US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) released a landmark Second Amendment (2A) decision last week. SCOTUS has determined that “keep and bear arms” actually means “keep and bear arms” and “shall not be infringed” actually means “shall not be infringed”. Better late than never.
This would seem to suggest the end of “may issue” policies in the handful of states that currently employ that oppressive practice. Is “shall issue” now the law of the land? Will law-abiding Americans in New Jersey, New York, or Hawaii be able to carry handguns for self-defense?
