I'm sending the below again because it's critical we step up and fight back against the DOJ.
Just weeks after we filed a Public Records Act demand with the Department of Justice to get more information about their massive gun owner data leak, we got our response: AG Rob Bonta and Gavin Newsom would rather hide than be held accountable.
"In response to a PRA request, the Department may withhold certain records when the public interest served by not disclosing the records clearly outweighs the public interest," they wrote.
This means we have to prepare to fight back.
It's CRITICAL that Gavin Newsom and AG Rob Bonta are held accountable for putting targets on the back of gun owners in California, and we have to be ready to fight back when we get our response.
The Department of Justice has an army of lawyers chomping at the bit to fight back and block us from holding their boss accountable, which means it's even more critical for us to be prepared, and we need to raise AT LEAST another $6500 more to prepare our eventual response.

Blog: Refuse to Be a Victim
This is a guest post by Desi Bergman, NotMeSD Project Manager.
As of July 2022, the San Diego Union Tribune reported that the current response time to a Priority One police emergency call in San Diego County is 40 minutes. That’s right, 40 minutes! This means if you are being domestically abused, if your life is threatened, if your child goes missing, or if someone commits a home invasion or home robbery, the police will arrive approximately 40 minutes later. In these examples of Priority One calls, a lot can happen in 5 minutes, let alone 40 minutes waiting for the police to arrive.
